Donald Joseph Davidson was born Weymouth, Dorset, 05 January 1896. [1][2]
He was the son of schoolmaster John Davidson & Maud [Aston]. [3]
Aged 5 in 1901 he resided Helperthorpe, East Yorkshire, with his parents and four siblings. [3]
In 1911 his parents were living in poverty in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.
He married Amelia "Milly" Peatfield, Grimsby 27 June 1925. [4]
In 1925 they resided 340 Victoria Street, Grimsby. [2]
Their son Donald J Davidson was born Grimsby 1926. [5]
He served in World War II as a gunner in the Royal Artillery, number 1484621. [6]
Donald died aged 48, London 11 November 1944.[7][6] Presumably he was killed by a German V-2 rocket, of which around eight were fired per day at Britain.[8]

DNA
Annie Elizabeth Bustens was born 1921 to unmarried Mary Elizabeth Bustens, and took the last name of her mother. The Bustens family believe that the father was Donald Davidson.[9] Her mother told her "not to accept anything from Donald".[2] Annie would visit Donald's grave.[2]
Grandson Brian Chester claims to be a DNA match to Davidsons in Wales, which would have to be via Annie and Donald.[2] However, other DNA matches prove that Annie's father was Ted Bennett.
