Ephraim Davidson was born on 17 Jan 1762 in Rowan County (currently Iredell County), North Carolina. He died on 25 Feb 1842 in Iredell County, North Carolina, and was buried at Centre Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 129 Centre Church Road, Mooresville in southern Iredell County. His grave is marked with a standing marble stone, the 31st stone in Row 12 (Marker M14).[1][2] His wife Jane is buried next to him in the grave marked M13.[1][3]

Iredell County, North Carolina In the name of God Amen I Ephraim Davidson being of a sound mind blessed be God for it, I Ephraim Davidson doth make and ordain and by these presents hath made and ordained this my last will and testament and first - all my just debts to be paid. Second. I Ephraim Davidson doth bequeath my son George S. Franklin Davidson the old fort plantation in Burke County and all other land I have joining the old fort tract which I have obtained grants for the same I likewise leave to my son George F. Davidson all the negroes at the old fort place five at present and all their future increase I also leave to my son all the stock of every kind on the old fort place and all farming tools waggon and all the gearing. I doth bequeath to George S. F. Davidson the land I now live on in Iredell County all the seperate tracts except three hundred acres at the upper part joining the lands of W. Byers, W. Atwell & M. Mayhew which land I Ephraim Davidson doth bequeath to my daughter Catherine McCree's four boys Ephraim, Grilson, John & Layton McCree equally divided to them when the youngest of them arrives at twenty one years of age all the balance to my son George F. Davidson.
2nd I E Ephraim Davidson doth bequeath unto my daughter Evalina S. Conner six thousand dollars that is sixty shares in the Cape Fear Bank of North Carolina to her as long as the State continues the Charter if she is living then at the expiration of the charter to be equally divided to her and her children she may then have living - Winess my hand and seal Ephraim Davidson (page break)-
I Ephraim Davidson doth bequeath to my four grand children (of) my daughter Nancy Torrence, now Camela Latta and Weddow (Widow) Isabella Smith, Hugh Torrence and Franklin Torrence, I leave to the four grand children above named, three thousand five hundred dollars of the stock in the Cape Fear Bank North Carolina that is 35 shares.
4 I Ephraim Davidson do now bequeath to my two grand children by my daughter Harriet Brevard two thousand dollars that is twenty shares of the Cape Fear Bank of North Carolina to be equally to Alexander Brevard and Ephraim Joseph Brevard, to tose two grand children the twenty shares equally divided between them.
5. I Ephraim Davidson doth now leave to my son George S. F. Davidson Peter and (Cose?) his wife and Jean and (Stacy?) and all the children she Coose may have hereafter and the negro woman Hannah and the two negro mad Alexander or Alick by name, the above six servants left by deed of trust to Franklin Davidson to the support to (rise?) and benefit of my daughter Catherine McRee and the children during her life but if she lives till the children come of age to inherit - then Catherine and the trustees may divide as they may think the most proper with the survivng children of her body. I doth bequeath to Catherine McRee one pair of looking glasses that is at the house and one bed and (?) covering. I Ephraim Davidson doth bequeath to Catherine McRee six thousand dollars of the stock in the Cape Fear Bank of North Carolina, which sixty shares to the use of her & her children during the continuanace of the Charter and at the expiration of the Charter if she be living make use of it - Ephraim Davidson - to her sepperate use and her children and if she should decease before the Charter expire there to be equally divided among her surviving children, the dividends arrising from her stock she will make as profitable use of it as per (chance?) will direct
6 I Ephraim Davidson do now bequeath to my son George S. F. Davidson two hundred shares of the stock in the Bank of North Carolina. I leave to him one hundred shares in the United States Bank of Pennsylavania. I also leave to George S. F. Davidson all the house hold & kitchen furniture that may not be otherwise disposed of -
I Ephraim Davidson doth bequeath to George S. F. Davidson Tilimacus, Prince, Alfred, King, Ephraim, Jack, Frank, Terry, Moses, Mary Ann and Mary, Old King and Betty his wife. I do further bequeath to Franklin Davidson Andy & Arcy his wife and all the children with them at this time and any others she may have. I do leave the saw yard with the stock (_?) to George F. Davidson - I Ephraim Davidson doth leave all my stock of Horses Cattle Mules Sheep & Hogs except one horse to Catherine McRee her choice I leave. I leave to her besides the other leggacies - all my notes bank accounts and any cash that may be on hand or dividend not drawn
7 I Ephraim Davidson doth bequeath the (insayn?) child of my daughter Eveline D. Conner I leave to that child (third Line) five hundred dollars to be paid to who ever may be (end third line) considered her guardian, this legacy to be paid out of the items above mentioned, the stock and land, then the balance to be put into six shares equal - Ephraim Davidson (page break)
8 I Ephraim Davidson doth will and bequeath two shares of the six to my son George S. F. Davidson the other four shares to be equally divided to the grand children of the body of Eveline D. Conner and the four grand children of the body of Catherine McRee
