John Davie was born about 1837 in the parish of Rathen, Aberdeenshire. [1]

John married Margaret Webster in the parish of Aberdour, Aberdeenshire in 1862.[2]

Nine years later, John, Margaret and their four children were living in Mary's Valley in the parish of New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire.[1]
