Biography

George Davies was a convict after the Third Fleet transported to New South Wales

George Davies was born about 1811.

He was the son of Solomon Davies and Lettice Verch Lewis. Solomon and Lettice were married on the 11 June 1805 in Trevethin, Monmouthshire, Wales United Kingdom.


He was convicted of stealing a watch at the Montgomery Quarter Session and was transported to New South Wales for a term of 7 years via the ship Lord Lyndoch, which arrived on the 18th of October, 1833.[1]

He gained permission to marry Jane Robinson on the 30th of May, 1840,[2] and married at St. Matthews Church of England, Windsor, on the 11th of May, 1840. He passed away in 1882, Windsor, New South Wales, Australia.
