Biography

Thomas was born in 1784 in Llanbedra, Flint, Wales. He was the son of David Davies and Mary (UNKNOWN) Davies.[1]

Thomas was baptised on 17 August 1784 in Llanbedra, Flint, Wales.

When Thomas was 36 he married Jane Jones on 28 October 1820 in Saint Asaph Church, Eglwys-Fãach, Denbigh, Wales. The couple had 5 children: Elizabeth Davies, Sarah Davies, Anne Davies, Harriet Davies and Thomas Davies.[2][3]

In 1841 Thomas (age about 56) was living in Wern Fawr, Llangynhafel, Denbigh, Wales.

In 1851 Thomas (age about 66) was employed as a Innkeeper in Rainbow Inn, Gwernymynydd, Mold, Flint, Wales.

In 1861 Thomas (age about 76) was employed as a Innkeeper in Rainbow Inn, Gwernymynydd, Mold, Flint, Wales.

Thomas died at the age of 81 on 17 July 1866 in Rainbow Inn, Gwernymynydd, Mold, Flint, Wales and was buried in Saint Cynhafels Church, Llangynhafel, Denbigh, Wales.[4]

Research Notes

Thomas Davies was born in 1783.
The Llanbedr parish records show a baptism date of 17th. August 1783 Thomas's parents are shown as David and Mary Davies.
The 1841 Census shows he was a Farmer, living at "Wern Fawr" Llanganhafa l, Denbighshire. with his wife Jane. He is shown as being aged 55/59.
"Wern Fawr" was built in 1799 by Thomas and Judith Davies of "Plas Draw ". According to the plaque on the wall.
The Census returns for 1851 and 1861 show that Thomas was the Inkeeper of the "Rainbow Inn" at Arddynwent, living with his wife Jane.
The 1861 census return shows that "Wern Fawr" was now owned/run by a Willi am Jones, a farmer of 163 acres.
Thomas and his wife Jane are buried in the churchyard at Llangynhafal acco rding to Anne Amies who has seen the gravestone.
Thomas Davies died on the 17th. July 1866 as noted on his gravestone.
His wife Jane died on the 21st. April 1862 age 77 years.
