Henry Edward was the 3rd son of Hannah John and Henry Davies of Irwell. He and his family settled in Springston about 1900, then to Greenpark and lastly to Burnham about 1911. Henry worked as a farmer. He married Amy Greaves in 1898 and they had 3 daughters born in Canterbury. Around 1914 Amy and Henry moved again, this time to Templeton where they lived for over 20 years. In the late 1930's one more move was made to Mosgiel Junction in Dunedin. Henry died age 79 and was cremated at Dunedin.
