Biography

Charlotte Davies was born in 1866 approx May. She died age 62 in 1931 Grimsby, Lincolnshire. 1871 Census the family lived at 27 Albion Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire. She lived with her father Charles, her mother Sarah, 4 brothers George, Henry, Albert and Charles and her sister Martha. 1881, 8 Elizabeth Street, Birkenhead Cheshire, was a shared home with Thomas Davies and his family. Charlotte's mother Sarah, by 1881 had died. She lived with her father Charles, Brothers William, Albert, Charles and Joseph and her sister Sarah. She married Gilbert Birkett in November 1883 in Liverpool, Lancashire. In the 1891 census, ST John Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire, she lived with her husband, Gilbert Birkett a Plasterers Labourer, and daughters Elizabeth and Margaret. 1901 census they lived at 12 Oliver Place, Birkenhead, Cheshire. Gilbert a Bricklayers Labourer and Charlotte. They had more Children, Joseph, William, Gilbert and Sarah Ellen who was my grandmpther. Elizabeth a Soap works packer and Margaret also lived with them. They had a lodger Elizabeth kennedy who was also a Soap works packer from Ireland. Come the 1911 census they lived at 4 Hampton Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire. Gilbert a Bricklayer and age 44, Charlotte a housewif, Arthur a Labourer, Ellen a housemaid, (Ellen as she called herself is Sarah Ellen, my grandmother), Albert and Gilbert were Dairy Hand's, Martha at school, Bertha was 3years old and they had a lodger John Birkett who was born in 1870 age 41, a widower and his occupation was a Driller.
