DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
As far as I can tell, there is no evidence that James Davis and Sarah Van Meter had a son William. James's will names four sons, none of them William, and a land record has Sarah naming a son Robert who deceased before the will -- but still no William. As I put in a research note on Sarah's profile, it seems very likely she was still unmarried in 1730. Their sons James and Robert were probably born by 1733, so it seems hard to include a son William until after them --- no son born in the 1720's.
So I propose to disconnect this profile from the parents currently attached.
