Funeral services were held Saturday, December 17, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Clare for Thomas F. Davis, 81, of Clare, who died December 14, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. The Rev. Dale Reiff officiated. Burial was at St. James Cemetery, Clare.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude, Clare; daughter, Alice Wesley, Kansas City, Missouri; Maureen Erwin, Chillicothe, Missouri; five grandchildren; brothers, Carver Davis and Richard Davis, both of Fort Dodge, and Bob Davis, Lomita, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Thomas F. Davis was born June 24, 1913, in Clare. He attended schools in Knierim. He married Gertrude Drushella in 1943 at St. Matthew's Church, Clare. He farmed for several years in the Clare area. In 1958, he became owner and operator of the Phillips Petroleum Station in Clare. He later owned and operated Tom's Tavern in Barnum until his retirement.
