Biography

He was born on 02 Sep 1790 in Surry County, North Carolina and his parents were Ann (Marshall) and William Davis.

He had about 16 children by 2 wives. [1]

John B. Davis was first married on 18 Jul 1815 in Wayne, Springfield County, Indiana to Ruth Hadley (b: c1792 Orange County, NC) (a distant cousin descended from Ruth K. and Simon Hadley) and they had about 6 children.

On 11-4-1815 John Davis was disowned by Deep Creek Monthly Meeting for marriage out of unity.

By 1817 he had moved his family to Montgomery County, Onio.

John B. Davis married secondly on 20 Apr 1826 in New Garden, Wayne County, Indiana to Lydia (Davis) Farmer [b: 26 Sep 1801 VA, daughter of Elizabeth (Huff) and William Davis]. Lydia was a second cousin, descended from Thomas Davis.

He died on 01 Aug 1884 in Wabash County, Indiana and was buried there.
