Mary Davis was born in Brookfield, Massachusetts, on November 12, 1730, the daughter of Joseph and Experience Davis.[1][2]
On April 23, 1752, she married, in Northampton, Massachusetts, Col. Benjamin Simonds. The ceremony was performed by Joseph Hawley, Justice of the Peace. They settled in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and had children there:[2][3][4]
Rachel, born April 8, 1753; married 1st, Thomas Train, 2nd, Benjamin Skinner.
Justin, born February 17, 1755.
Sarah, born July 8, 1757; married Ithamar Clark of Pownal.
Mary (Davis) Simonds died in Williamstown on June 7, 1798, at the age of 67. She is buried in Westlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, where her gravestone reads, "In memory of Mary Simonds, wife of Col. Benjamin Simonds, who departed this life, the 7th of June 1798, in the seventieth year of her age."[4][2]
