George Hiram, born in 1870, was the first child to be born to Germain Davis and Elinor Goff. In 1890, at the age of 20, he married Mary Ann Gilleland in Lockport, New York. He was a student at the time and Mary Ann, a nurse, born in Canada and who came to the U.S. in 1890 was a naturalized citizen according to the 1940 census. George and Mary Ann had two known children, Elva Ruth Davis and Fred Read Davis, and possibly a 3rd, Katherine, born in 1919.
George was a bricklayer, a trade learned from his father, Germain, also a bricklayer.
George died in 1946, in Buffalo, New York, at the age of 76.
