OUR common ancestor, SAMUEL DAVIS, was born near Drumquin, in County Tyrone, Ireland, in the year 1669, and died at his son James’s in Tinicum, Bucks County, Pa., in 1758, being 89 years of age. His wife, MARGARET STEWART, was born in 1676, and died in 1756, when 80 years old.
Their son, JAMES DAVIS, was born near Drumquin, March 1, 1699. He married ELIZA JENNINGS January 3, 1729. They emigrated to America in 1735, and thus James Davis became the head and founder of our family in this country.
