Pleasant Armstrong Davis was born August 7, 1852 in Fentress County Tennessee. He was a son of Benjamin Davis[1] and Elizabeth Guffey. He was counted in Fentress County on the census with his newly-widowed mother and four siblings in 1860.[2]
As a young man he worked as a hired hand on the farm of Thomas Bryant in Jackson County, Tennessee in 1870.[3]
He married Sarah "Sallie" Beasley of Kentucky (1861-1918)[1] (AKA Sally Bazzley[4]) c.1877.[5] They were living in Collin, Texas in 1880, without children.[6]
In 1900 they were counted in Dallas, Texas. The photo of the document shows that he was born in 1852, age 47, married 23 years, 7 children (6 living). His father was from Virginia and his mother from Tennessee.
Pleasant Davis passed away in 1913 and is buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, USA.[1]
