Biography

Navy (Davis) Douglas was the first wife of Rev. Elisha Douglas. They were married on September 23, 1837 in Copiah, Mississippi.[1] She is listed with him on the following census reports (although her name is misspelled in each; it is her):

Based on Census Reports; Navy was the mother of 8 of Elisha's 10 children: (seven are linked on find-a-grave)

Navy passed away in 1878 at the age of 62 and is buried in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag, Lawrence County, Mississippi.[5]
