Biography

Franklin Lee Davis was born on January 12, 1893, in Wisconsin.[1][2] He was the sixth child, and fourth son, of Franklin and Ella Davis. Franklin owned a farm in Underhill Township, Oconto County, Wisconsin at the time.

The 1900 census shows Frank living at home on the family farm with his parents, and siblings David, age 20, Floyd, age 15, Maud, age 14, Eugene, listed here by his first name, "Archie," age 11, Nora, age 9, and DeForest, age 4, as well as Maurice, aged 2 months.[3] Sadly, Maurice would die later that year.[4]

The 1905 and 1910 censuses both show him still living with his parents on the family farm.[5][6]

When Frank Davis registered for the WWI draft, on June 5, 1917, he stated that he had a "wife and child."[1] I do not have a record of who these are. Nor do I have any record of him serving in WWI, although he may have. The next record I have for Frank is of him registering for the WWII draft on July 26, 1942, at which time he lived in Hillsboro, Washington County, Oregon.[2]

Franklin Lee Davis died on February 25, 1964 in Lane, Oregon.[7]
