An entry in a compilation of marriage bonds of Loudoun County, Virginia, shows the marriage in Shelburne Parish on 8 August 1798 of Edward Davis and Elizabeth Triplett, daughter of Francis Triplett. [1]

A marriage record in Loudoun County, Virginia, shows the marriage on 8 August 1798 of Edward Davis and Eliza Triplett. The records were reported by John Littlejohn. [2]

Further research finds that Rev. John Littlejohn was a Methodist preacher.

An account of the debts and sale of the estate Edward Davis is dated 26 May 1815. The estate was settled 14 September 1818. His debts include payments of rent. The entry mentions two unnamed daughters of the deceased. The records were signed by John Littlejohn ME (Methodist Episcopal). [5]

Probate Records of Father-in-Law

Probate records of Loudoun County, Virginia, include the will of Francis Triplett of the town of Leesburg County of Loudoun, dated May 9, 1821 and proved June 12, 1823. The will names his heirs as sons Thomas Triplett, John Triplett, Nathaniel Triplett, Daniel Triplett, Francis Triplett, William Triplett; daughters Nancy Triplett, Charlotte Smith; granddaughters Catharine Davis, Charlotte Davis. [6]

This shows that Francis Triplett's deceased daughter Eliza Triplett, wife of Edward Davis, had two daughters: Catharine Davis and Charlotte Davis.
