12 December 1700, William Creed records the satisfaction of a mortgage he made to "Jonathan Davis, Samuell Davis, and Ellnathan Davis... of a deed formorly given... by Marry Davis latte of Jamaica beinge the widow and relict of Sameull Davis deseast... ". The document further releases Jonathan Davis, Samuell Davis and Mary Davis of all claims. The mortgage was made 7 Nov 1692. Creed then goes on to state that he releases from further obligation "the thre brothers" mentioned above.
"Samuell Davis deseast" is the son of Fulke Davis:
1 Aug 1685: "Theese presents testiffy that I Samuell Davis of Jemaica in Queens County ffor & in good
consideration mee thereunto moving & more especially for full satisffaction alreddy received off my ffather Ffulk Davis off ye Towne afforesd doe by theese presents ffully & firmly give grant alienate
bargain sell & make over unto my afforesd ffather Fulk Davis his heires executors administrators & assignes that house & home lot yt my ffather now lives on which I bought fformefly off my ffather
together wt ye barn orchard ffencings & improvements as alsoe five acres off meadow more or less... "
So it appears that Elnathan needs to be added as a son of Samuel (son of Fulke)... and it also appears quite likely that Elnathan and Jonathan went to Trenton, New Jersey with their mother Mary c. 1695 and preached at the Church at Cohansey. I have some details to work out, but the years, names, and relationships fit perfectly with the narrative here: [2]
Let me know if, and when, you agree with the additions. It opens up an entire line of descendants, long rumored, but never clearly connected to Fulke. I think the two sets of records does that, finally.
