John Garfield Davis was born 15 Aug, Enosburgh, Franklin, VT,

son of Richard Davis, Sr, and Sarah Garfield.

He married Lucy Bruce, daughter of Reuben Bruce and Lucy Rice, of Sheldon. Their children were Helen P., Harriet Elzina, and Loretta Elinor.

His widow, Lucy Bruce Davis, remarried William Webster, and died at Franklin, VT.
