Biography
I was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I attended Brantdale Public School, Norwood Park School, Westmount High School, and McMaster University. My parents had met while working at the Steel Company of Canada (Stelco) and I had summer jobs there during my undergraduate years.
I received my Ph.D. in Religious Studies at McMaster in 1979. I then obtained a permanent position at the University of Prince Edward Island and eventually retired as Professor of Religious Studies there in 2014. I am also a licensed Lay Reader at St Peter's Cathedral (Anglican) in Charlottetown PEI.
My wife and I have been married for 45 years. We have three sons born to us, an adopted daughter who is originally from Bangladesh, and two grandchildren.

As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

WikiTree is different from other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person. That means we will all share ancestors and work together as a collaborative team! The Honor Code helps keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on our SHARED tree.
You should have received an email with links you can use to get started. Once you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree. Begin with tags for your own profile. Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. in which you're interested.
When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add to the tree!
