and was known as "Doc" Davis.
David grew up in a large family of seven siblings. His dad was a retired from the Army after 20 years of service, so the family traveled often when his dad was transferred to a new post. David had a love of horses and always showed unconditional love to his family, including his wife and daughter.
David passed away a few weeks ago after battling ALS for almost two years. His wishes after death were for his body to be donated to medical research. That happened and was donated to UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He will posthumously be able to help further research into several diseases that he had including ALS, prostate cancer (which was in remission), colon cancer for which he had surgery and was still in the hospital when ALS was diagnosed. Since he was a Vietnam Veteran the Agent Orange exposure may be able to be researched. He was able to donate his eyes as he had 20/20 vision. I know that my brother would be so very proud of the help he might provide to others thru research and possibly the gift of sight.
I LOVE and RESPECT the awesome warrior and at the same time sweet nature that defined my brother!
