Biography

George Washington Davis was born on February 15, 1879, in Texas, his father, Samuel, was 46 and his mother, Edna, was 36. He had three sons and four daughters with Ida Mae James between 1895 and 1916. After the Selective Service Act was signed in May 1917, George Davis registered for the draft. George was a farmer in the Burnet County area of Texas. This is whre he raised his family until his death on April 14, 1960, in Lampasas, Texas, at the age of 81, and was buried in Burnet, Texas. George is buried at the Davis Family Cemetery.
