Obituary

Mamie A. Davis Holmes Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie A. Holmes, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Catchings Chapel. Mrs. Holmes died at 4:25 a.m., today in Southwest General Hospital where she had been a patient for one day. Born Dec. 2, 1890, she was a native of Selma, Ala. She made her home at 634 24th st., in McComb at the time of her death. Survivors include three sons, L. S. Holmes, Memphis, Tenn., J. M. Holmes, Columbus, Bennie Holmes Jr., McComb; two daughters, Mrs. Rosie Lee Johnson, McComb, Mrs. E. W. Knight, Fernwood; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Rev. John Ash, Rev. David Millican and Rev. Ollie O'Quin will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
