DNA recently reveals maternal connection to Marion Frances (Burns) Patten

Hi Terri,
I think I can shed some light. My grandmother, Priscilla Marion Patten, was born in 1923. Her mother, Marion Burns Patten, had a child out of wedlock who was given up for adoption. I think this is Robert Burns Davis. My grandmother had a hard time talking about this. Apparently he moved to the next town over and later dated a friend of hers. Her mother was reticent to admit to it when my grandmother learned of him in her teens, and it was an emotional subject. I don’t know at what age he was adopted or why. My grandmother thought she had some early memories of him, which would suggest he spent his early years with Marion, since Prscilla wasn’t born until 3 years later. It was the Great Depression and I know things were tough for them. For a time they lived with 2 or 3 other families in Goffstown.
