Born in Pall Mall ,Tennessee November 30, 1868 he was the son of William Riley DAVIS and Margaret Evans DAVIS PYLE. He married Ermine Stewart in 1894 who died in Jan 1929. Later he married Jenny Cheek Patton who died in 1942. He was a member of the Walton Methodist Church. Survivors are one son Roy of Lucerne, Indiana . In the 1880 Census there is a John DAVICE listed as a servant in the home of William and Mary PYLE. Given that they were the step grand parents to John, that they were neighbors to them at the time of the census and he would have been the proper age, I believe this is John Daniel DAVIS

John was born in 1868. He is the son of William Davis and Margaret Evans. He passed away in 1951. [1]

John Davis was my grandfather and he was a very handsome man,he was only 5ft.10in.tall but I thought him to be 10ft. He always walked with a cane, had snow white hair and thin,he always walked like the owned the town and I was happiest when he let me walk up town with him because he knew every one in Walton.
