Biography

Anna was born about 1838 in Pennsylvania.

She was the daughter of Margaret and John Davis, and the sister of Civil War veteran Edward Davis of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, the first regiment in the United States to enlist men of color during that war.
