No record has been found of the birth of Lois Davis. Based on her age at her death, she was born about 1772. She was the daughter of the Joseph Davis who died at Oxford, Massachusetts, on 14 Sep 1813. Administration on the estate of Joseph Davis was granted to William Hurd on 4 Oct 1813, and on 3 Oct 1814 William Hurd and Lois Hurd were among the heirs who signed an acknowldgement that the assets of his estate had been satisfactorily divided. Her father was probably either the Joseph Davis who married Sarah Davis on 6 Jul 1758 and/or the Joseph Davis who married Hannah Lamb on 15 Jan 1771 (they may have been the same man), both at Oxford; the name of his wife is not in Joseph Davis' probate file.
Lois Davis of Oxford, Massachusetts, married William Hurd of Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts), at Oxford in September 1793.
Lois (Davis) Hurd, the widow of William, died at Oxford, Massachusetts, on 3 Jul 1843, with her age reported as 71.
