He is buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
Robert L. "Bob" Davis, 81, of Pocahontas, IL, died Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Bob was born to Fred and Vera (nee Heinrich) Davis on October 13, 1935, in E. St. Louis, IL. On August 4, 1962, he married Carol Hytla in Waterloo, IL.
He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17, served during the Korean Conflict, and traveled the world for four years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Pierron, IL. Bob was a life member of the V.F.W. and Knights of Columbus Council 1580, 4th Degree Assembly 0231, E. St. Louis Local 439 for more than 45 years.
He liked to fish and hunt and was a St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. He taught his son carpentry and how to drive.
He is survived by his Wife, Carol Davis, Pocahontas, IL; Children, Donna Jean (Gene) Ball, Gainesville, TX, Austin Davis, Pocahontas, IL; Traci (significant other, James Vales) Davis, Broth, IL; Sister-in-Law, Janet (Art) Lehr; Grandchildren, Chris, Josh, Matt, Savannah; several Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Fred and Vera Davis; Daughter, Nancy Jane West; Sister, Nancy Jane Davis (in infancy); Brother, Fred Eugene Davis.
