Biography

Roy was born in 1903 in Washita County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Levi Davis and Mollie Norton. He married Isabella "Belle" Pemberton, and they had the following children:

• Levi Jerry Davis (1924-1984)
• Alana Belle (Davis) Jackson (1930-2004)
• Molly Davis (1942-)

Roy passed away in 1950 in Stratford, Texas, and is interred in the Stratford Cemetery.

'Jick' Davis, of Stratford, Dies

Stratford, Sept. 21, Special -- Roy Jefferson 'Jick' Davis, 47 years old, died at 5 o'clock this morning of a heart attack.

Mr. Davis had lived in Stratford since 1907 and had operated the Davis Motor Company, Chevrolet agency, since 1921. He was an aviation enthusiast and for several years had flown his own plane.

He was a member of the Stratford Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Belle Pemberton Davis; three children, L. J. Davis and Misses Alana and Mollie Davis, and his mother Mrs. Polly Davis all of Stratford; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Boston, Stratford, and Mrs. Abigail Norton, Weatherford, Okla.; and three brothers, Lee Davis of Cordell, Okla. and Wright and Ural Davis, both of Stratford.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Stratford cemetery.
