- Sarah was daughter of William and Leah (Smith) Davis.
- 5 Sept 1837 she was married to Orren Alston Craven in Davidson Co., North Carolina.
- Orren and Sarah lived in Browntown, Davidson Co., NC which at one time was the largest most thriving town in the area. When the plank road came through it bypassed Browntown and that was the death of the city.
- the 1850 census shows that they have five children: John W. age 9, William age 7, Samuel S. age 5, Albert G. age 4, Solomon L. age 2. There were children born after the 1850 census - Shubel C. b 1853 and - ????
