Biography

Lewis was born about 1812. [1] He was the son of John Davis and Remembrance Emerson. He passed away in 1898. [2] Lewis was named in the 1842 petition to the estate (settled in 1824) of his grandfather John Davis (1752-1823) [aka John Davidson] as the son of John Davis, deceased, and legitimate heir to that estate.

Military Service Lewis is recognized as serving in the Union Army during the Civil War. [3] Having enlisted at the age of 51.
