Sometime between 1908 and 1911, Norman came to Canada. 1911 Census indicates year was 1910 however a border crossing to the US indicates a year of 1908 on the ship Hesperian. ^[2]Definitive record not yet located.

In 1911 18 year old Norman, born 1892 in England, was working as a farm labourer for a Bernie Galbraith near Elkid, Middlesex, Ontario. His immigration year is given as 1910.^[3]

April 27, 1922 Norman crossed the US/Canada border at Niagara Falls for a 2 day trip to Buffalo. Immigration card shows him as 29 years old born in London, England. He was unemployed at the time and living on Dundas St in London, Ontario. Card also records his original entry to Canada as March, 1908 at St John on the ship Hesperian^[2]
