Biography
William Dawe was born in 1814 Tamerton Foliot, Devon, England. He was a son of Sampson Dawe and Jenny Maddock. He was christened on 23rd November 1814 in the Parish Church, Tamerton Foliot.
William married Mary Ann Gregory on 30th September 1838 at East Stonehouse, Devon.
William Dawe migrated from England to South Australia.
William and Mary Ann migrated to the new Colony of South Australia (Australia) 1840-41, with their infant son, William Henry. They had a further five children in their adopted country: Sampson, Joseph, John Maddock, Mary Jane and Robert.
He passed away, aged just 36 years, on 3rd December 1850 at Willunga, South Australia and is buried in St Stephen's Church of England (Anglican) churchyard, Willunga.
