Thanks for signing the Honor Code, Phil. I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

Thanks Debi, I need all the help I can get when doing something new these days, especially computer-related.

Since you have English ancestors, Phil, I recommend joining the England Project. They've got some great process to help people verify their data and get accustomed to the way WikiTree works.

Thanks for the recommendation, Debi :-) Once I've uploaded all the stuff I've done over the last 14 years, which has shown me just how English I am, I'm sure I'll want to do more. This site makes it so easy to trace further back with confidence in the information.

Hi Phil

I am pleased to confirm you as a member and welcome you to the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Please add as much information as you can, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Have fun collaborating on your Dawe ancestors

Hi Wendy, many thanks for greeting me so quickly. I believe I am descended from Thomas Nanscawen DAWE and Joan VOSPER. I don't know why I haven't explored wikitree before as I've been doing my tree since 2006 but have hit dead ends in every branch now. I'm actually looking for the best place to show my research and see if others deem it correct. Phil

Hi Phil

If you decide you want to add your ancestors to WikiTree, you should set up Tags and Volunteer. Tags are useful, as they become clickable links to others researching those surnames, or places, you have expressed interest in. You can do this by editing your tags/comments, adding a couple of sentences to your biography, or posting a brief message in the public comments section of your profile page. After that, click the ‘Save Tag(s) and Volunteer’ button.

Once we know you are here to help grow the tree, a greeter will be happy to confirm your membership. If you have questions about WikiTree, please feel free to contact me.

PS If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page

Phil is 32 degrees from Danielle Liard, 29 degrees from Jack London and 20 degrees from Henry VIII of England on our single family tree. Login to find your connection.
