Biography

Henry Dawes was born May 4, 1804 in Thomaston, Knox County, Maine, USA, the son of William Mears Dawes and Abigail Kendall Holden Dawes. Henry served in the Marine Corp in 1821on the US Ship Falmouth. [1]

Henry married Sarah Cutler Dawes on January 20,1829 in Constitution, Washington County, Ohio. They had the following children:

  1. Henry Manasseh Dawes
  2. Lucy Dawes
  3. Rufus R. Dawes
  4. Ephraim Cutler Dawes

Henry died Nov. 4, 1867 in Mauston, Juneau County, Wisconsin, USA. He was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Lindina, Juneau County, Wisconsin, USA.[2]
