William Thomas Daws/Dawes married about 1850, (1) Sarah Veteto/Viteto b. abt 1830 in TN, d. possibly Nov 12, 1864 at Jackson, TN; they had the following children:

  • William Thomas Dawes Jr. b. Jul 5, 1851 d. 18 Oct 1949 at Proctor, OK, buried at the Tahlequah Cem., Tahlequah, Cherokee Co., OK, who married Lutetia "Lucy" McKinney and Lucinda (LNU) Burgess
  • James Dawes b. 18 Feb 1855 d. 26 Feb 1927 in Jackson Co., TN
  • John Savage Dawes b. abt 1858 in TN
  • Martha Dawes b. abt 1863 in TN who married Richard Pharis.
