Arthur was born in 1904[1]. He passed away in 1940.
Arthur was an Aircraftsman 1st Class based with 77 Squadron at RAF Driffield. On 15th August 1940 a force of Luftwaffe aircraft attacked RAF bases in Yorkshire. They attacked Driffield Airbase about 13.20 for about 45 minutes dropping over 100 bombs. In total all grounded aircraft were destroyed and 14 persons were killed.[2]
