Col. John Dawson died in Northampton County, N. C., in 1761. He was Justice of the Peace in 1739 for Bertie County. He left large estates to his son Henry and bequests to his daughter Mary, who married William Kinchen.
Henry, who resided in Northampton County, NC, was a member of the North Carolina Assembly in Nov 1766.
