Frances was born about 1795 in Leverton near Boston, Lincolnshire, England. She married Henry Blundell in 1816 in Middlesex, England.[1]
She and her husband and child Anne were living in a Lodging house in Bayham Street, Camden Town, Middlesex, London, when she was arrested for stealing from the lodging house in 1828 apparently there had been to other instances of stealing where she was pronounced not guilty. For the old Bailey proceedings [2]
Frances was convicted of simple larceny and sentenced to Transportation for 7 years. She was transported with other female convicts aboard the "Mermaid" to Van Diemens Land, now Tasmania.
In 1830 Frances had a child to Richard Stockdale, also a convict. She names the child Fanny.[3]
She recieved her Ticket of freedom in 1835 and had applied to remarry in 1832. [4]
The marriage took place on the 23 December 1833 at Sorrel to Richard Stockdale also a convict. [5]
She thought to have passed away in 1841.

Orderly. Married and one child. Stated This offence - Stealing sheets from my furnished lodgings. Prosecuter Mary Brown, No 7 Bayham Street, Camden Town . My husband was taken with me for this offence but was not tried. I was not convicted before. My husband’s brother’ s wife was. Husband a blacksmith. Husband works for Mr Crutchley. York St Park St, Camden Town. Married. Protestant. Ship’s Surgeon’s Comments - Particularly proper. DESCRIPTION Native Place - Leverton, near Boston (Lincolnshire) Trade - Laundress and housemaid; can wash and iron, get up linen. Literacy - can read and write Height - 5 ft 2 1/2 in. Age - 31 (1828) Complexion - Fair Head - medium. Flat top. Hair - light brown. Curly. Visage - Broad, oval. Fleshy bottom of cheek. Forehead - Small. Flat on temples. Eyebrows - Strong and full. Much arched. Eyes - Light grey. Nose - Long , straight and sharp pointed. Mouth - Small. Small lips. COLONIAL EXPERIENCES 1832 : 24 August - Ticket of Leave 1832 : October - Applied to marry Richard Stockdale (No. 633 ) per Princess Charlotte (married at Sorell 23 December 1833). 1833 Muster : Holding a Ticket of Leave. 1835 : 10 January - Free by Servitude
