Nicholas was born about 1922. He was the son of Joseph Dawson and Mary Basque. [1]. He passed away in 1979.

Death FEB 1979 in Sydney City Hospital, Sydney, Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia Tuesday February 27, 1979 N.W. Dawson - Sydney. Well known Sydney resident, Nicholas (Nick) WIlliam Dawson, 57, of 281 Royal Avenue, died Tuesday at Sydney City Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dawson. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ashby Branch 138. Besides his wife, the former Catherine Driscoll of Glace Bay, he is survived by six daughters, Mary (Mrs. Doug MacDonald) of Randolph, Manitoba, Debbie of Kitchener, Ontario, Elaine (Mrs. George LeBlanc) of Saint John, NB., Joan, Marlene and Gloria at home, two sons Kenneth and Dennis both of Kitchener, Ontario. He is also survived by two brothers, Bernard and John both of Sydney, two half-brothers, Raymond Doucette of Sydney and Art Doucette of Margaree, five sisters Alice (Mrs. Bill Hooper) of Sydney, Mary of Sydney, Rose (Mrs. Fred Reid) of Ottawa, Dora (Mrs. Al Clark) of Scarborough, Ontario, Genevieve (Mrs. Roy O'Callaghan) of Sydney, one half-sister Dora (Mrs. Harry Danielak) of Detroit, and seven grandchildren also survive. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Curly and Peter Doucette. The remains are resting at the T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George Street.
