On her marriage certificate she is identified as Elizabeth Dasey Jay. Her father is William Christopher Jay. On the Freebmd data base transcription her name has been transcribed as Elizabeth Dasey Jay here.
BUT people who copy their information from Burke's do indeed call her Elizabeth Daisy Day before her marriage. Here is the sainted (for most purposes) Darryl Lundy. I do not have Burke's to hand, but to me it is beyond reasonable doubt that he calls her "Day".
I should like to prefer her marriage certificate and change the name to "Jay". What do people think? Is there anyone reading this with a relatively primary source beyond the marriage certificate which I quote here?
