Clara Emma (known as Emma) was born on 18 October 1910 at Southernwood Station, Emerald, Queensland, Australia. She was the daughter of Argentine/Chilean immigrants, Arthur (Arturo) Day and Henrietta (Enriqueta) Parada.[1]
She moved with her family to Wokalup, Western Australia, when she was in her mid 20s. Here she met and married farmer, Hugh Rigg. at St Patrick's Church, Fremantle on the 18 April 1940.[2]
Hugh and Emma had 7 children:
Hugh Neville - b. 29 March 1941, d. 24 April 1954[3]
Ivor Morden - b. 31 July 1948, d. 31 August 1996[5]. Morden was an early activist within the Melbourne, Australia gay community and advocate for and supporter of men diagnosed as HIV positive or with AIDS. A transcript of an interview conducted by David Menadue OAM with him as part of the PLWHA (People Living with HIV/AIDS) Victoria History Project are in the possession of the profile owner.
