Dora Jessie Day was born 19th December 1912 in Valletta, Malta & baptised there 5th January 1913, the daughter of Charles Day & Emily Annie Childs, whilst her father was stationed there with the 2nd Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment.^{[1][2][3][4][5]}

Dora Jessie Day & William Shipp were married in 1942, in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England.^[6]

William Shipp of 4 Hamilton Road, Little Canfield, Essex, England died aged 54, on 12th September 1958 at The Atkinson-Morley Hospital, Wimbledon, Surrey, England. Administration of his estate was granted at London 28th November 1958 to Dora Jessie Shipp, widow.^[7][8]
