From Brad Lebeck: Alfred and Elizabeth were married at the Lebieck farm in Nottawasaga. They were given a cow as a wedding gift from Elizabeths parents. After they were married, Elizabeth took the boat from Collingwood (?) to Owen Sound while Alfred walked the cow back to the Day family farm in Daywood. Back in 1882, there wouldnt have been any roads or direct route, so you can imagine that travelling this rugged terrain by foot would have most likely taken several days.

Burial: Leith Cemetary, Leith, Ontario.

According to The History of Sydenham Twp. A Centennial project Alfred took over the family farm when his father John died in 1881. It then passed to Alfred's son Fred in 1919. Fred sold it in 1930 to Mrs. Margaret Aiken who in turn sold it to A. Beige in 1959.
