Jess was born 17 Jun 1887 in Torch Lake, Antrim, Michigan.[1][2] He married (1) Wilma Norris on 18 May 1910 Elk Rapids, Antrim, Michigan.[3][4] He registered for the draft on 15 Jun 1917.[5] Jess was the father of at least seven children, including:[6][7]
