Allison was born in 1796. He was the son of John DeFrance and Jane Caldwell. He passed away in 1859.

All[i]son] Defrance appears in the 1850 United States Federal Census as a 53-year-old farmer with $5000 in real property, living with his wife, Martha, and four children, three sons and one daughter. The youngest two children attended school in the previous year.

Allison DeFrance was born Sept. 9, 1796 in Washington County, Pennsylvania and died Mar. 10, 1859 Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He married Martha Allender and had 11 children, she was born in 1798 and died in 1875 in Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. Allison died in 1859 and Martha was living with her son; Freegift in the 1860 census for Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. The 1870 census Washington County, Pennsylvania; lists, Martha Allender DeFrance living with her son, Charles.

Hugh Caldwell DeFrance was born May 10, 1819 in Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and died July 21, 1894 in McConnells Mills, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Loeffler Shaler July 4, 1849 in West Alexander, Washington County, Pennsylvania. She was born 1829 in Dutch Fork, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and died 1915 in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Jane DeFrance was born June 19, 1821 in Raccoon Creek, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and died 1897 in Dutch Fork, Washington County, Pennsylvania. She married Abraham Morrow on February 11, 1841 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. He was born 1816 in Ireland, and died February 12, 1888.

John DeFrance was born February 1, 1823 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died March 5, 1906 in Centeville, Appanoose County, Iowa. He married first Margaret Parkinson on March 4, 1853 in Brooks County, West Virginia, then Virginia. She died Oct. 26,1888. He remarried secondly Martha Anna Ewing (AABAJB) born in July of 1833.

James DeFrance was born Dec. 15, 1823 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died Apr. 3, 1870 in Jefferson County, Iowa. He married Susan Clemens Aug. 20, 1849. She was born May 19/20, 1824, and died Aug. 26, 1890.

Caldwell DeFrance was born October 1, 1827 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died February 15, 1905 in Seattle, King County, Washington. He married Margaret Drischol on Sept. 25, 1856 in Jefferson County, Iowa. She died 1899 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.

Martha DeFrance Martha was born January 28, 1829 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died September 18, 1893 in Tenmile Village, Greene County, Pennsylvania. She married John F. Miller March 8, 1846 in Monongahela City, Pennsylvania.

Allison DeFrance was born January 31, 1831 in Washington County, Pennsylvania and died July 17, 1905 in Mc Donald, Washington County, Pennsylvvania. He married Mary Alice Cowan March 08, 1876 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She was born March 18, 1854 in Monongahela City, Pennsylvana and died 1931 in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

Charles DeFrance was born November 01, 1833 in Dutch Fork, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died June 18, 1911 in Claysville, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He married Hester Meloy in Washington County, Pennsylvania, daughter of Reese Meloy and Jane Caldwell. She was born September 6, 1832 in Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died April 28, 1888 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The 1860 census lists Charles and Hester with a 1 month old son named Reece.

Elizabeth Ann DeFrance: AABAEI (John, I-1; James, II-1; Anna, III-2: John, IV-1; Allison, V-5) Elizabeth was born July 07, 1835 in Dutch Fork, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died March 11, 1904 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania. She married Joseph A. McWreath on January 10, 1856. He was born January 27, 1825, and died November 8, 1916.

Freegift DeFrance was born December 15, 1837 in Dutch Fork, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died Jan. 16, 1913 in Claysville, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He married Julia Ann McAdoo Mar. 10, 1859 in West Alexander, Washington County, Pennsylvania. She was born in Mar. of 1840 in Pennsylvania and died Aug. 15, 1912 in Claysville, Washington County, Pennsylvania.

William DeFrance was born June 20, 1841 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania and died February 6, 1916 in Granville, Licking County, Ohio. He married Sarah M. Chippy on Oct. 23, 1862 in Licking County, Ohio. She was born February 27, 1845 in Licking Creek, Ohio, and died December 07, 1924 in Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska.
