Biography

Jacques DeRouen, son of Jacques Derouen and Charlotte LeLeu, was born on 23 June 1803 in Petite Anse, Louisiana, and baptized a year and a half later by the priest of St. Martin de Tours Church in St. Martinville.[1]

His known siblings were:

  2. Julie Derouen (1811 - 1851)
  3. Eurasie B (Derouen) Norris (1811 - 1880)
  4. Alexis DeRouen (1817 - 1892)
  5. Marguerite Delzenne Derouen (1821 - 1902)

Jacques married Adele Bonin (c.1804 -c.1845) on 19 May 1823 in St. Martinville, Louisiana.[1]

Their known children were:

  1. Joseph Desire Derouen (1825 - 1878)
  2. Carmelite DeRaven Derouen (1826 - 1899)
  3. Jacques Norval DeRouen (1831 - 1903)
  4. Evariste Derouen (1836 - 1898)

Jacques died on 24 April 1886 in New Iberia, Louisiana, at age 82.[1]
