At the time of the 1930 US Census, head of household August DeVos (age 38, born in Holland) was working as a Patrolman in the City of South Bend and living in a home he owned that was valued at $5,000 and had a radio in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana with his wife, Mary L. DeVos (age 35, born in Belgium) with their son Henry DeVos (age 16, born in Indiana), and their daughter Louise M. DeVos (age 8, born in Indiana). August was first married at age 21; Mary was first married at age 18. Both of August's parents were born in Holland, and both of Mary's parents were born in Belgium. August immigrated in 1892 and was naturalized; Mary immigrated in 1906 and was naturalized. 
At the time of the 1940 US Census, head of household Henry De Vos (age 26, born in Indiana) was employed as a Pay-Master for a Roofing Manufacturer and living at a home he rented for $18 at 1305 Forrest in Ward 5, Mishawaka, Penn Township, St. Joseph, Indiana with his wife, Romaine De Vos (age 25, born in Belgium). Romaine was working as a Stitcher for a Rubber Footware Manufacturer. 
Henry "Hank" DeVos died at 93 years of age on 23 Nov 2006 in Gainesville, Florida. He'd last been employed as a Purchasing Agent, living in Gainesville, Florida. Mentioned in his obituary were his sister, Marie Louise DeVos Butler, and his father, August DeVos. Mentioned in Hank's extended family were his niece Linda Rodenizer, his nephew Paul Rodenizer, his niece Toni Morrison, his nephew Donald G. Morrison, and his nephew Henry Butler. Others also mentioned were Mary Louise Lodivika Van Autreve Devos and Romaine Marie Louise Bert.
