Caroline DeWalt is the youngest of three daughters born to John Edward DeWalt and Florence Helen (nee Schwartz) DeWalt. She lived in Pittsburgh until 1971 when her family moved to Hillsdale, Michigan, after her father was laid off from Alcoa and found a new job as a salesman for Plymouth Flush Doors. The family lived in Hillsdale until 1983, when they moved to Medina, Ohio, after another job change for her father. Caroline graduated high school from Medina Senior High School in 1984, and then graduated from the College of Wooster in 1988 with a B.A. in English and Theater. She moved back to Pittsburgh, where both her sisters were residing, and worked as Marketing and Public Relations director for the University of Pittsburgh's Theater Arts Department and the Three Rivers Shakespeare Festival from 1988-1990. From 1990-1995, she worked as Director of Marketing and Communications for City Theatre before taking a job with Reese Brothers Telemarketing, where she worked in Sales and later Customer Support. She left full-time employment in 1999 to start the Teacher Certification Program at the University of Pittsburgh, where she got her secondary English certification. During the 2000-2001 school year, she was a long-term sub at Mount Lebanon High School, teaching 9th and 10th grade English. Caroline earned her M.Ed. at the University of Pittsburgh in 2006. Since August of 2001, she has been teaching English at Upper St. Clair High School. She has taught Newspaper Journalism, Honors 9th English, and currently teaches the Middle Years Program 9th grade English classes for both honors and academic students. She has also served as Secretary of the Upper St. Clair Education Association (AFT local 4270) since 2008. Caroline lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her wife Jennifer Robbins-Mullin, whom she married in Danbury, Connecticut, in 2010.

You can now get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is
How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.
Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.
Enjoy Researching
