Gabriel DeWitt was the son of Peter and Jane Bray (Brey) DeWitt, Senior. He and brothers, Henry and John Herrod, came to Ohio with their Uncle Frederick Bray (Brey). He died after the 1870 Census was taken, probably in Indiana.
